BTW- genuine Ross-tech cable (tested good on my other tdi), factory stock radio and was able to hook up. My car also failed inspection because of OBD port failure to connect. Scan: 01 02 03 08 09 15 16 17 19 22 29 35 36 37 39 46 47 55 56 57 after much testing, it seems my instrument cluster (2003 Jetta TDi) is causing my Ross-Tech VCDS to not connect to any module. but the battery was totally dead ( 2014)) I decided to take her out for a spin just to keep things lubed up, etc. I've been telecommuting since March 2020 so old Stella, my 2003 Jetta TDI hasn't been driven a lot.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide: In addition to what I posted there, let me add that all the windows, door locks, radio and ac work, the car runs fine and no dash warning lights are lit (except the airbag light on the MFA). This is cross posted over at vortex, but I haven't gotten any replies yet.
